We had a great couple of days at the Nature-based Solutions (NbS) Conference, meeting people from across the country and learning about the fantastic work happening in their own communities.
Day 1 featured leading Irish and international experts discussing Nature-based Solutions for climate resilience, biodiversity, flood management, farming, river restoration and coastal protection.
Throughout the day, Micheala Gallagher demonstrated our new leaky dam model at the Inishowen Rivers Trust exhibition stand, helping to spark conversations about Natural Flood Management and how simple nature-based measures can help slow the flow of water, reduce erosion and create better habitats for wildlife.
Day 2 focused on practical workshops and demonstrations. Trish Murphy and John Doherty gave a presentation on Natural Flood Management and Nature-based Solutions in Inishowen, alongside many other interesting workshops and demonstrations showcasing projects from around the country. Trish and John also demonstrated our new log leaky dams and boarded dam models.
his was a great opportunity to share ideas, learn from others and see the innovative work happening in communities around Ireland.

A special thank you to Eunan and Brendan, who did a fantastic job designing and building our leaky dam model. It attracted plenty of interest over the two days and was a great way to demonstrate Natural Flood Management in action.
