Inishowen Rivers Trust Enjoys a Great Day at the Carndonagh Agricultural Show

Instagram Carn Show recap 2026

Inishowen Rivers Trust had a fantastic day at the Carndonagh Agricultural Show on Saturday, where we spent the day meeting farmers, landowners, families and members of the local community.

Our stand was busy throughout the day as visitors stopped by to learn more about the Farming for Water programme and see our Nature-based Solutions model in action. The model proved to be a real talking point, helping to demonstrate how simple, natural measures such as leaky dams can slow the flow of water, reduce flood risk, improve water quality and create valuable habitats for wildlife.

It was especially encouraging to see so many young people taking an interest in the model. They asked plenty of questions and enjoyed seeing how working with nature can make a real difference to our rivers and the wider environment.

The show also provided a valuable opportunity to speak directly with farmers about the Farming for Water programme. We were delighted to receive a number of new Expressions of Interest from farmers who would like to find out more about the scheme and the measures available to help protect water quality while supporting sustainable farming.

We really appreciate everyone who took the time to visit our stand, ask questions and chat with the team throughout the day.

A big thank you to the organisers of the Carndonagh Agricultural Show for another successful event. We thoroughly enjoyed being part of the day and look forward to attending again in the future.
