Through our River Bingo activity, the students explored the river closely and, with a few guided questions, were able to assess how healthy it is. Later, Thomas, Sally, and Méabh from the Mill River Conservation Group introduced the children to some of the insects living under the water and explained how these tiny creatures help us understand water quality.

A very special thank-you to everyone who looks after Glenevin Waterfall Park all year round, what an incredible resource to have right on our doorstep!
Special thanks to Neil Duffy, Danny McConlogue, Vincent McGra, and John Duffy, along with Oliver Ruddy, John Kearney, and John Doherty, for the fantastic work you do year-round to keep Glenevin Waterfall Park safe, clean, and thriving. The results of your hard work can be seen in the health of the river itself!
And finally, a big thank-you to the teachers and assistants from both schools for helping make the day possible, and to all the students whose energy and curiosity made it such a memorable experience. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

This workshop was supported by the Local Enhancement Programme 2025, funded by Donegal County Council, the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, and @pobal.
