June 2020 – Despite the lockdown and cancellation of many activities, there is still one Inishowen Rivers Trust volunteering activity that you can engage with – recording Invasive Alien Species (IAS). Currently we are restricted to a 5km radius from our home but on June 8th this will extend to 20km. This gives us plenty of scope to observe the 6 species of alien plants the IRT are currently recording.
To record a species simply log onto our online form (https://arcg.is/HreHv) and fill in the details of what you find. You can send in 2 photos of each patch you observe. For more details on how to identify the plants and a QR code for the online form see our website section Projects – Invasive Alien Plants.
Happy hunting!
