This summer, the Inishowen Rivers Trust brought people together in Moville and Clonmany to share stories, music, memories, and creativity inspired by our local rivers. From traditional songs rediscovered in Scotland to the laughter of children imagining the movement of water through dance, Riverside Reflections was all about deepening our connection with the rivers that shape our landscape and our lives.
Now, we are delighted to share that these moments live on in a brand-new podcast: Riverside Reflections.
Thanks to MacRuari Audio Services, the voices, stories, and sounds of the two community events have been carefully recorded and edited into a podcast series. Listeners can hear local heritage being passed down, discover songs that have travelled across decades and seas to be heard for the first time in over 50 years in Clonmany. We also have a new composition by Kathleen O’Hara Farren written especially Riverside Reflections.

The podcast is more than a record of two wonderful days; it is an archive of community memory, new heritage and old, and creativity that will remain for future generations. Whether you joined us in Moville or Clonmany, or are listening from further afield, we invite you to tune in and be part of this celebration of rivers.

We would like to thank all who took part – the facilitators, musicians, storytellers, heritage experts, and community members – as well as our funders, the Creative Ireland Programme, Donegal County Council, and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, for making this project possible.

Our rivers carry stories as well as water. Through Riverside Reflections, those stories will continue to flow.
Sincere thank to Donegal County Council, Creative Ireland Programme and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sports and Media.
