Trees on the Land

FEB 10th 2018, Saturday – Volunteer with the Inishowen Rivers Trust to plant trees on the Bredagh River and in Culdaff Woods. The Trees on the Land project is an initiative of the Green Economy Foundation which works with the Woodland Trust in Northern ireland to plant trees all over Ireland. Previously known as the ‘One Million Trees in One Day’ project, this a great opportunity to meet others, get exercise outdoors and help to create beautiful spaces for our wildlife and communities to enjoy.

Trees provide a wide range of benefits for us including structure and habitat in an ecosystem, food and shelter for wildlife, water and soil retention as well as economic benefits wood harvesting. Studies have also shown that access to woodland and spending time in nature has considerable benefits for human physical and mental wellbeing.

Meet 10am – 2pm at Moville Hostel (lunch provided)
Meet 3pm – 5pm Caratra Car park, Culdaff (we will walk to Culdaff Woods)
