Not all heroes wear capes—some cycle, run, hike, brew beer, and raise much-needed funds for their community to help protect our rivers. We were thrilled to be chosen by Kinnegar Brewing as the beneficiary of this year’s Kinnegar 24-Hour Challenge 2024. The goal? Keep moving for 24 hours, no matter the weather.
Rick kicked off the challenge by cycling from Kinnegar Brewing to Rathmullan, and despite being the first to get soaked, he wasn’t the last.
The team pushed through the wet conditions, taking on hikes, runs, and bike rides across Tramore near Horn Head, Gartan, Letterkenny, Derry, Ards Forest Park, Carrickfin, Pollan Strand Clonmany, and the Urris Lakes in Inishowen. Former Kinnegar Brewing colleagues even joined in from London, New York, and Munich!
A special shoutout to the amazing team who kept everyone fuelled with a fantastic BBQ and, of course, #KinnegarBeer after the event.
We are truly overwhelmed by your generosity and the dedication shown in completing this challenge, especially under such rainy conditions. Not only was the original goal of €1,000 reached, but it was surpassed, with an incredible €1,300 raised! This will be put to great use in our ongoing efforts. Stay tuned for more details!
Thank you to each and every one of you that took part or donated. We could not continue our work without the help of our funders and the generosity of our volunteers and doners.
Go raibh míle maith agat.
